As chilly temperatures are upon us, you might consider taking a few extra precautions to make sure your pet has a comfortable winter season. You might notice that your hands and lips are drier as cold air moves in, and this weather has the same effect on your pet’s skin. Here is one suggestion for winter pet care:
Bathe your pets as little as possible during cold spells. Washing too often can remove essential oils and increase the chance of developing dry, flaky skin. If your pooch must be bathed, ask your vet to recommend a moisturizing shampoo and/or rinse.
