The summer heat can be overwhelming and it is important to keep your dog safe in the heat! Gresham Animal Hospital would like to provide the sixth tip on how to keep your pets safe in the heat below!
Avoid hot surfaces. Dogs’ paw pads may seem tough, but sidewalks, pavement and sand can get so hot in the summer that dogs’ paws can burn and blister. To prevent this, schedule walks for the morning or evening when sidewalks are cooler, or purchase protective boots designed just for dogs.
