Dr. Chris Holenstein

Dr. Chris is an East County native. He went to Franklin High, and then graduated from Reed College before braving the cold for 4 years at the University of Minnesota’s Veterinary School. Gresham Animal Hospital hired him right out of school 20 years ago. He loved the clients and staff so much that he became the owner of the oldest Animal Hospital in East County. The building was the original from 1944 until a new state of the art hospital was erected on the same ground. His passion is his work, but equally loves his wife Anna and teenage daughter Adelaide. He has 4 cats, 3 dogs and 1 hamster.

Dr Katherine Tompkins

Dr. Katherine Tompkins was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree in animal science, including a semester studying abroad in Botswana, Africa. After a year-long internship with the non-profit group Heifer International, she attended veterinary school at Texas A&M, graduating in 2010. She began her veterinary career in rural New Mexico before moving to her most recent practice on southern Oregon coast. She is looking forward to the cultural and social opportunities that await in Gresham. Dr. Katherine has many interests. She’s equally happy hiking in the Gorge, wine tasting in the Willamette Valley, or attending a concert in Downtown Portland. She has two very beloved pets that she has rescued along the way – her cat Panda, and dog Pogo.

Dr. Clarissa Zuver

Dr. Clarissa Zuver is a native of Nevada. She graduated from the University of Oregon’s Veterinary School in 2003. She has worked in the Gresham Area for the past XX and calls the Northwest home. She joined the Hospital in 2013…. She is married to John. They have a young son named Jaden.

Jenn and Melissa

Jenny and Melissa are your Licensed Veterinary Technicians. They have passed National and State tests proving their knowledge in the care of your four-legged family member. Jenny and Melissa bring compassion and concern with a watchful eye in the special needs of your pet, whether it be in surgery and running lab tests; or in the pharmacy filling your pets’ prescriptions.

Carianne, Katie, Kathy and Jerry

Carianne, Katie, Kathy and Jerry have been with GAH for a combined total of 16 years. They bring to the front a wealth of caring and compassion and responsibility for the care of your pet. They are the beginning and the end to your experience at GAH and they strive to make it a positive one.

Marie, Lori and Kelley

Marie, Lori and Kelley comprise the balance of our Veterinary Assistant Staff. They are an integral part of the care your pet receives from GAH. From getting your pet’s medical history to making sure they have clean, warmed blankets during their stay after surgery; or during boarding visits with fresh water and 3­ times daily walks, they provide the extra touch that your pet deserves.
