We are continuing our series of making sure your pup stays safe this spring!

Springtime is here, which means going outside more often and playing with our dogs, either on walks to the park or in our own backyards. But with spring comes more hazards for your pup. Here are a few tips for keeping your pet safe this spring! One thing you can do for your pets is to be prepared for the increase of bugs that can cause problems for your pooch!

Speaking of Bugs…

Spring bloom brings out the pests! Insects and debris can fly into animals’ ears and eyes, causing infection and irritation. Although many pets like to feel the wind in their face while riding in a car with the windows down, it’s best to keep them completely inside the vehicle to keep pests from flying into places that could cause them harm. Pets should be up to date with flea and tick medications as well as heartworm prevention medications.

Gresham Animal Hospital is equipped to provide the services and treatment your pet needs under one roof. Keep Gresham Animal Hospital in mind next time your dog or cat needs a checkup, shots, or vaccines. Give us a call at 503.666.1600 to schedule an appointment today.
