Be Prepared for Emergencies

We are continuing our series of tips to keep your dog safe while you explore the great outdoors together!

Summer is almost here which means exploring and hiking with your best friend! Here in Oregon, we love going out and exploring our numerous trails, hikes, camping, and enjoying nature. It’s fun to take our dogs with us and they love it too! There are a few safety steps you should take for your pup while exploring together! Our fourth tip is to be prepared for emergencies.

4. Be Prepared for Emergencies

Keep a small pet first aid kit in your car or your backpack. A tube of ointment and some vet wrap can come in handy if your pet injures their paw or you need to keep a wound clean until you can get to the vet clinic. Also keep the number for an emergency vet clinic handy, especially if you’re traveling outside of your hometown.

Keep Gresham Animal Hospital in mind next time your dog needs a checkup, shots, vaccines, give us a call at 503.666.1600.
