Dr. Armitage was raised in the south eastern US and went to the Georgia Institute of Technology for undergraduate studies where he ultimately majored in Biology. He then worked for several years with an environmental hygiene company in Augusta, Georgia. He then attended the University of Georgia for veterinary school and graduated in 2000. He adopted a 3-legged dog from the teaching hospital and she was his constant companion (and best dog ever) for the next 15 years. He met and married another veterinarian, Jessica, in Conway, South Carolina in 2003. They moved to Gresham in 2013 with their 2 children, Evangeline and Piper after a hiatus during which they lived in Ecuador for 6 months. They currently have 2 kittens, a hedgehog and a chicken.
