Summer time is here! Picnics and beach parties and walks at the park are all great and wonderfully fun activities to do with your pet! But summertime can be dangerous for your fluffy family members too. Between the heat, and the hot sidewalks summertime can be rough on your pets.

There are a few steps you can take to keep your pet safe this summer. The 7th step is to make sure you are taking the proper steps to keep your pet safe from heat exhaustion.

HEAT EXHAUSTION:
If you were to find your pet collapsed outside in the heat, place them in the bathtub and run cool (not cold water) on them. You can also put ice packs under their arm pits (axilla), groin areas, and cool towels on their heads and contact your veterinarian immediately. Never put your pet into ice water!
