Summer Safety Tip #8

Posted by wadmin on Friday, July 14, 2017

Summer time is here! Picnics and beach parties and walks at the park are all great and wonderfully fun activities to do with your pet! But summertime can be dangerous for your fluffy family members too. Between the heat, and the hot sidewalks summertime can be rough on your pets. Always remember to keep your pets safe during fireworks!

8. Keep Clear from Fireworks

Besides the scary booms and bursts of light, fireworks are made with chemicals like potassium nitrate that can poison a dog and fuses that can lodge in an animal’s throat and stomach. If you put on your own fireworks display, keep your pet indoors and clear your yard of the fireworks debris before letting pups back outside.

Bring fluffy family member in for checkups, shots, and vaccines to Gresham Animal Hospital! Call us at 503.666.1600.
