Halloween is a fun time of year filled with treats decorations and costumes! But for your pet, it can be rather dangerous with all that extra candy lying around and extra people coming to your door. Here are some safety tips for your pets for this time of year.

9: Bring all pets indoors.

Even if you dog has never jumped the fence or gotten out of the gate, a little goblin could open the gate if it is not secured or your furry monster could become so agitated that he can easily climb or jump the fence, which can be dangerous in many ways. You never know.

10: Call for advice if necessary.

Lastly, if you find yourself or your pet entangled in any of the above mentioned dangers, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible to get advice on what to do.

It’s also important to not make your pet vomit without talking to your doctor because some items that are inadvertantly ingested can be more dangerous coming back up and may require specialized treatment.

Gresham Animal Hospital is equipped to provide the service and treatment your pet needs under one roof. Keep Gresham Animal Hospital in mind next time your dog or cat needs a checkup, shots, or vaccines. Give us a call at 503.666.1600 to schedule an appointment today.
